PARISFAL IN LICEU
For those who prefer a classical music there is also interesting show to see. Of all the operas composed by Richard Wagner, who wrote both libretto and score, Parsifal‘s take on the theme of redemption is one of the most eloquent. It had its original Spanish premiere in 1913, at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the very theatre that a new Spanish production is now being premiered in.
This is a Zurich Opera House co-production, and its stage director Claus Guth is aiming to emphasise the relationship between the figure of the redeemer and the avalanche of productions the opera has seen since the First World War.
