Nights of music in the gardens of Cap Roig

June 26, 2012

The biggest music event on the Costa Brava comes to the areas of Palafrugell and Mont-ras

(very close fromBarcelona): the Cap Roig Festival.

Every year, the direction and artistic production of Cap Roig attracts the biggest names in music and dance to the incomparable venue of the castle and botanic garden in what has become, according to the British newspaper The Independent, one of the top ten summer festivals.

This year, under the direction of Ediciones Musicales Clipper’s, we’ll enjoy a programme of over twenty top-notch national and international artists. With a sensational opening concert by the legendary Bob Dylan followed over the next days of the festival by artists like Tony Bennett, George Benson, Manolo García, Paul Anka, Miguel Bosé, Joaquín Cortés, Simple Minds, to name just a few, the festival will close with the highly anticipated performance by Alejandro Sanz in his only European concert.

The Cap Roig Festival initiative has earned a great name and prestige for itself and has been welcomed by locals for the tourism it brings to the region and the holidaymakers who choose the Costa Brava as their summer destination.

The concerts take place in a natural setting made up of the Cap Roig castle and its botanic garden, considered one of the best in the Mediterranean, where the region’s most characteristic plant species mix with trees and plants from every continent and blend, on the edge of the sea, with the beautiful natural landscape of the Costa Brava.

This is the setting in which the auditorium is erected – an open-air stage that year after year welcomes amazing music and dance performances. With a capacity for 2,000 people, it becomes the summer headquarters for the Cap Roig Festival every year, one of the most prestigious summer music events in the world.
