Inspired in the traditional musical event that is held every year in Vienna, and following the success of previous editions, the Grand New Year’s Concert comes back with an attractive selection of the best waltzes, polkas and marches of Johann Strauss.
More than 5,000,000 spectators have enjoyed and acclaimed the Strauss Festival Orchestra production throughout Europe after 23 years of success: in the Musikverein in Vienna, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Philharmonie in Berlin, the Musikhalle in Hamburg, the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Palau de la Musica in Barcelona, the Royal Theatre and the National Music Auditorium in Madrid, etc.
The concert is one of the highlights of the Promoconcert music season, not only for the extraordinary festive atmosphere that surrounds this spectacular program but also by the huge participation of an audience that, year after year, go to the concert to celebrate the arrival of the new year.
The Strauss Festival Orchestra, with an outstanding trajectory throughout Europe, brings the wonderful music of Johann Strauss closer to an ever wider and enthusiastic public. The program includes familiar titles of the Austrian musician, considered the king of the waltz, such as “Napoleon”, “Festival of Flowers”, “Klipp Klapp”, “The Emperor Waltz” or “Champagne”. Do not miss the most famous of all waltz, “The Blue Danube”, or the march “Radetzky” that accompanied by the clapping of the audience, usually closes the evening.
