The Palace of Catalan Music was built between 1905 and 1908 by the architect Lluis Domenech i Montaner as the headquarters of the Catalan Choral Society, funded from public subscription. The Palace of Catalan Music is an architectural pearl Catalan modernism, the only modernist concert hall declared World Heritage by UNESCO (4 December 1997), which is currently meeting the essential social and cultural life of Catalonia. It has emerged as symbolic and sentimental heritage of a people that identifies with its history. The building is organized around a central metallic structure covered with glass, which receive natural light becomes the most significant building of the work of Domenech i Montaner in a magical music box that combines all the applied arts: sculpture, mosaic, glass and wrought iron.
