7portes7 Portes restaurant is one of the most traditional restaurants of Spain. Josep Xifré i Cases, the richest Catalan of the time, was obsessed with building houses inspired by the buildings of the squares of Paris and its central Rue de Rivoli.  He built a building on the top side of La Barceloneta neighborhood. It was called ‘la Casa de Xifré’. There he installed his office, home and on the ground floor a luxurious restaurant. The local had eight gates, seven for the public and one for the entry of goods and personnel. Since 1836 politicians and intellectuals have dined at their tables.

Enjoy a great “7 Portes”!
