David BowieThe exhibition features more than 300 objects, including photographs, record covers, handwritten lyrics, original costumes, stage designs and new material of the artist during the past five decades, facilitated by David Bowie Archive. “David Bowie Is” is an in-depth look at how music and the radical individualism of David Bowie has inspired other artists to challenge conventions and look for freedom of expression.

The exhibition focuses on the diversity of the work of David Bowie, the variety of sources of inspiration and the close relationship between many disciplines and forms of expression. His music and his radical individualism not only influenced by artistic movements of fashion, design and contemporary culture, but Bowie also left their mark in these fields.

The exhibition revises retail career of this exceptional artist since the early years of David Robert Jones as a young artist until he became David Bowie, the famous global superstar.

In the exhibition you can see more than 60 costumes used in Bowie concerts, including the bodies of Ziggy Stardust (1972) designed by Freddie Buretti; the Kansai Yamamoto ostentatious creations for the Aladdin Sane tour (1973) and coat made from the fabric of the Union Jack designed by Bowie and Alexander McQueen for the cover of the album Earthling (1997).
