Women in the Courtyard

The new edition of the open-air film series at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) is devoted to ‘dangerous’ and rebel women in the world of movie making. The program pays homage to them with films starring women who break the mold and don’t respond to usual conventions: femmes fatales, everyday rebels, imperfect mothers and violent women all form part of a program which includes films from all periods, genres and nationalities.

cccb summerFilms to be shown include I’m No Angel,  Johnny Guitar, La gran ciutat (Mahanagar), Instinto básico (Basic Instinct), Mommy, Girlhood and El carrer de la vergonya (Akasen Chitai).

August 9, 2017 “Johnny Guitar” Session 2: Rebel classic.
August 10, 2017 “The great city (Mahanagar)” Session 3: Rebels daily.
August 15, 2017 “Basic Instinct (Basic Instinct)” Session 4: “femme fatale” modern. The triumph of independence and sexuality.
August 16, 2017 “Mommy” Session 5: Mothers imperfect (bad mothers).
August 17, 2017 “Girlhood (Bande daughters)” Session 6: Rebels and dangerous neighborhood. The girls of the band.
August 22, 2017 “Street of Shame (Akasa Chitai”) Session 7: Prostitutes / hookers; Stigma more dangerous.
August 23, 2017 – Session 8 Guess the movie!
August 24, 2017 – Session 9 Guess the movie!

When:  Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursday ‘s of August at 22:00h
Tickets: Free but limited entrance
