SANTA LLÚCIA FAIR 2017
Christmas 2017. The Santa Llúcia Fair, the city’s most popular Christmas market, sets up in Pla de la Seu, on Av. Catedral.
The Santa Llúcia Fair, the oldest and best-known Christmas fair in Catalonia, opens to the public from November 24th to December 23rd . This year the fair marks its 231st anniversary with 287 stalls offering traditional Christmas products. This year there are 123 stalls selling nativity scene items and figures, 96 selling trees, moss and herbs, 64 selling craft items and 4 selling friction drums and musical toys.
Various parallel activities are being organized for this year’s fair, such as the giant Tió pooping log and the parade featuring the Christmas Carassa figure. This year also brings the 24th meeting for Catalan Christmas traditions and customs, with the Firaire d’Honor award being presented on December 16th at 7 pm.
In addition, less than 100 meters from the fair, at the Museu Frederic Marès (Pl. Sant Iu, 5) a nativity scene using a display unit format of over 35 square meters will be set up, with figures up to 40cm tall.
